Whitney completed her Master’s Degree in Applied Child and Adolescent Psychology: Prevention and Treatment from the University of Washington. She has experience practicing at outpatient, partial hospitalization, and residential levels of care. Whitney utilizes an evidenced based therapeutic approach that is rooted in a foundation of CBT and DBT. She is a trauma-informed clinician who values the lived experiences of individuals and their communities. Whitney enjoys working with individuals throughout the lifespan and has experience working with school aged children, adolescents, young adults, and families. Whitney is working towards full licensure and certification as a Linehan Board of Certification DBT Clinician under the supervision of Dr. Sara Schmidt.
What Whitney would like you to know about her:
I believe every person is unique and holds the capacity to find resilience and strength on the journey towards recovery. My clinical interests include working with youth, families, and young adults experiencing the challenges of emotion dysregulation, mood and anxiety disorders, and eating disorders. My therapeutic style is based on compassion, openness, validation, and collaboration. I believe the trust between therapist and client is crucial to the success of targeting and achieving treatment goals.
